Our MUNA

This is the last assembly that we have for this programme.Though we all feel tired, it is sitll an opprtunity for us to learn from not only the global issues, but also the interpersonal skills, how to be diplomatic but not hypocritical, to be friendly but not annoying.

These 4 days really teach us a lot. we are so grateful that we are given a chance to further broaden our horizons, to further fill in our minds with global knowledge and valuable exoerience.

To show our gratitude, we would like to thank our principal, Mrs Wong, who supports us at all times. And our advisor, Mr Ng Ho Keung, who guides us to the right path by his own ways.

People of Stanford House, who generously donate 30 storybooks to let children in China have a chance to learn and read.

Staff of OLE, who kindly give us permission to take photos of this Spanish food reataurant. With all the help, we are able to receive an award "The Most Hospitable Booth" in the International Night.

The Second Workshop (25/7)

We took the second training workshop on last Saturday(25/7). On that day, we were required to wear business attires. We understood the schedule of the assembly. Our goal was set.

In our third meeting, we have just decided the setting and content of our cutural booth for the International Night. We hope it would be a fine and nice one among all. We have been working so hard to find out where we can buy all the materials. All the calls we made us baffled, but nothing can deter us from striving for the best. After all, we made our decision with the help of our advisor and the power of the Internet.

During the time of preparation, we have experienced so much. It is believed that more challenges lie ahead.

And we will be waiting.

The First Workshop(11/7)

We attended the workshop conducted by Rotaract3450 for the preparation before the assembly in August. We were informed that there will be 300 participants in total. We started our work right after the workshop, like doing some reseach on those topics and working on the position paper and country profile. Before the next workshop, we will be well-prepared for sure.

Joining the MUNA2009

We sent our application to the Rotaract3450 for participating the Model United Nation Assembly 2009. Fortunately, we were offered a chance to join this event. This is a 4-day assembly conducting in Guangzhou from 13 to 16 August. We are going to discuss some global issues such as the nuclear weapons possessed by North Korea and the financial crisis. Today, we had our first meeting.

About the Model United Nation
The origin of Model United Nations (MUN) dates back to the 20s with the establishment of the League of Nations, followed by its transformation to United Nations in 1945. MUN has been a student-oriented activity which simulates the UN General Assembly. About 400 MUN conferences are held worldwide every year, in which 200,000 high school and college students have taken part in. The sizes of the conferences vary, as they can be held locally, at classrooms or internationally, at the UN Headquarter. Teams of participants will become country members of the UN. Each MUN delegate acts as the country's ambassador to the UN, and discusses world issues like human rights, terrorism and sustainable development. Students will learn to be leaders in MUN, which has been a training ground for leaders of different fields. MUN is also a valuable occasion to meet friends all over the world.

Model United Nations Assembly 2009 (MUNA 2009) aims at building a peaceful world with understanding is organized by the Rotary International District 3450, co-organized by Rotaract District Committee, supported by the Education Bureau of The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region .
